Coach’s story began with leathercraft in New York and developed through generations of designers who balanced usefulness, individuality and an unmistakable sense of the city.
1941
A beginning in New York.
Coach was founded in New York by six artisans with a focus on transforming leather into beautiful, practical objects designed for daily life.
1960s
A new point of view.
Under the vision of Lillian and Miles Cahn, the house grew from its leather-goods roots. Bonnie Cashin became Coach’s first lead designer in 1962, bringing bold color, proportion and modern New York energy to the collection.
2013
Heritage, reimagined.
Stuart Vevers began leading Coach’s creative direction, drawing on American pop culture, craftsmanship and the inclusive spirit of New York to introduce the house to a new generation.
